Unfolding the Flower of Avatamsaka Dharmapala

Unfolding the Flower of Avatamsaka Dharmapala-MasterHsinTaoI’d like to thank you all for the devotion and faith in the Ling Jiou Mountain committee. We’ve worked very hard to sustain this lineage. At the same time, I’d like to thank all the monastics in the managerial positions. We are all on the same boat to the same shore! I hope that we could carry on with our activity and strive together. We'll make LJM a great team with noble missions!

What is the mission of LJM? Being Mahayana practitioners, we need to form a team for the attainment of Buddhahood and the welfare of sentient beings. By applying skillful methods, connections, and links, we can pass on compassion and wisdom. Without the transmission, it is like not generating any offspring. The transmission of the LJM is the “In the realm of Avatamsaka where every being is the Buddha”. We must pass on Chan and compassion. Everything thrives to sustain. May it be flowers or plants, they thrive for the continuity of species. We’d also get to enjoy the beautiful flowers in the future. Likewise, the responsibility of monastics and committee members is to pass on Buddhadharma. The compassion and commiseration for sentient beings shouldn’t be put on hold in our hands. Every one of us represents the loving heart of Dharma. We are also fulfilling the way of the Bodhisattva in many lifetimes to come.

Unfolding the Flower of Avatamsaka Dharmapala-MasterHsinTaoI’m always making aspiration for all of you. Whenever I visit the Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar, I pray, “May all my monastic and lay disciples persevere through the path of bodhi and affirm their noble intention." The path of the bodhisattva is an auspicious journey. If we don't begin to walk the path today, we'd regret it tomorrow. If we still don't take action tomorrow, we'd be sorry forever. This world that we are in is a Buddhafield. Every part of the world inspires us to walk the path towards Buddhahood. No matter how many turns we take, we’ll all end up on this path.

All of us are the heir of the Buddha, monastics, or lay. We must pass on the transmission of Buddha Shakyamuni. Carry on the mission of Buddha Shakyamuni, the compassion of Guan Yin (Avalokiteshvara), and the aspiration of Ksitigarbha. Emulate these three noble beings. Take their aspirations as our accumulation on the path of Bodhisattva.
