The Six-syllable Mantra

Oṃ Maṇi Padme Hūṃ

The Six-syllable Mantra or the Mani Mantra is the embodiment of Guan Yin’s aspiration and blessing. It encapsulates the purest and noble form of the body, speech, and mind. Moreover, by practicing the mantra, one could accomplish enlightenment. Some may wonder about the difference between the Great Compassion Mantra and the Mani Mantra. Master Hsin Tao had explained, “The Great Compassion Mantra belongs to the compassionate activity for the benefits of others, whereas the Mani Mantra is the realization of the essence for the benefits of oneself.”
